How to Create a General Tree Care (GTC) Proposal in the Desktop App

Overview

You can create a General Tree Care (GTC) Proposal in the Desktop App using any of the following methods:

  • Polygon Tool (select trees on the map)

  • Actions Tab (from the GTC List View)

  • Create Proposal button (from the GTC List View)


Before You Begin

  1. Open your Project


Method 1: Create a Proposal Using the Polygon Tool

Use this method to select trees directly on the map in the map view tab.

Step 1: Select the Polygon Tool

In Map View, click the Polygon Tool next to the search bar
(hand icon with a pointing finger).

Step 2: Select Trees

  1. Click on the map to drop red pins around the trees you want to include.

  2. Continue placing pins until your selection area is fully shaded.

  3. Click the checkmark next to the Polygon Tool.

Trees inside the shaded polygon will turn into stars, indicating they are selected.

Step 3: Create the Proposal

Click Create Proposal to open the proposal builder with your selected trees.

 


Method 2: Create a Proposal Using the 'Actions' Button (GTC List View)

Use this method to select trees from the List View tab and start the proposal using Actions.

Step 1: Open the GTC List View

From Map View, click the General Tree Care (GTC) tab.

Step 2: Select Trees

Check the boxes next to the trees you want to include in the proposal.

Step 3: Create the Proposal from Actions

  1. Click the Actions tab

  2. Select Create → Proposal

The proposal builder will open with your selected trees.


Method 3: Create a Proposal Using the Create Proposal Button (GTC List View)

Use this method to start a proposal directly from the list view.

Step 1: Open the GTC List View

Click the General Tree Care (GTC) tab.

Step 2: Select Trees

Check the boxes next to the trees you want to include.

Step 3: Create the Proposal

Click Create Proposal button at the top of the list.


Editing Trees Inside the Proposal

Once the proposal builder is open, you can edit trees individually or in bulk.


Edit a Single Tree

  1. Double-click the tree you want to edit

  2. The sidebar will open

  3. Make your updates

  4. Save your changes


Edit Multiple Trees at Once

  1. Highlight the trees you want to update

  2. Click Edit Highlighted

  3. Select the attribute you want to edit
    (example: Objectives)

  4. Enter your updates

  5. Save


Adding Additional Trees to the Proposal

If you forgot to include a tree:

  1. Click Show All

  2. Select the additional trees you want to add

  3. Uncheck Show All to return to proposal-only view


Understanding the “Update Inventory” Option

By default, Update Inventory is ON.

When Update Inventory is ON:

Changes made in the proposal will update your main tree inventory.

When Update Inventory is OFF:

Changes will apply only to this proposal and will not update inventory.

Turn this off if you want the proposal to include one-time edits without affecting inventory records.


Previewing and Saving the Proposal

  1. Click Preview

  2. Review the proposal details

  3. Click Save (top right)


Sending Proposal to Customer

  1. In the saved proposal in the top right, click on the plane icon.
  2. Your accounts Proposal template email message will open in your default email carrier along with a link to review and approve the proposal.
