Use ArborNote Works in English or Español

ArborNote Works is fully available in Spanish — every screen, label, and message. Change the language used for menus, work orders, crew roles, and alerts, and add a Spanish keyboard to type notes in Spanish. Included in your subscription at no additional cost.

Applies to: ArborNote Works 3.19 or later — iPhone and Android

On first launch

The app automatically selects English or Español based on your phone's language. You can change this choice at any time from the app's settings.

Change the language in ArborNote Works

The interface changes immediately — no restart required — and the app remembers your selection the next time you open it.

1. Open Settings

From the app's main menu, tap Settings. It is available from the navigation bar or the hamburger menu, depending on the screen.

2. Tap Language

Find the Language option in Settings. The current selection appears next to it — "English" or "Español".

Note: Changing the app language affects only ArborNote Works on that phone. It does not change saved data, the phone's language, or the language on another crew member's device.

Add a Spanish keyboard to type in Spanish

The app language and the typing language are separate settings. To enter Spanish words easily — including accents and ñ — add Spanish as a keyboard language on the phone. You only need to do this once.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the phone's Settings app (not ArborNote Works).
  2. Tap General → Keyboard → Keyboards.
  3. Tap Add New Keyboard.
  4. Select Spanish, then choose a layout if prompted.
  5. When typing in ArborNote Works, touch and hold the globe key, then select Spanish.

Android phones

  1. Open your phone's Settings.
  2. Go to System → Keyboard → On-screen keyboard. On Samsung phones, go to General management → Keyboard list and default.
  3. Select your current keyboard, such as Gboard or Samsung Keyboard.
  4. Open Languages and add Spanish.
  5. While typing, use the globe icon or hold the space bar to switch between English and Spanish.

Note: Android settings vary by phone manufacturer and keyboard. Look for Languages in your keyboard settings if the options above are different.

Crew role names in both languages

If a teammate's app shows a role name you don't recognize, check it against this table.

English Español
Crew Leader Líder de equipo
Foreman Capataz
Climber Escalador
Ground En tierra
General General

Troubleshooting

The app opened in the wrong language

Open Settings → Language in ArborNote Works and select English or Español. Your in-app choice is remembered after first launch.

The app is in Spanish, but the keyboard is still English

Add Spanish in the phone's keyboard settings using the steps above. Changing the ArborNote Works interface does not automatically change the keyboard.

Will this affect my data or my coworkers?

No. Language is a per-device display preference. It does not change saved data, account access, or the language on anyone else's phone. Work orders, photos, and schedules stay exactly the same.

I do not see the Language option

Update ArborNote Works to version 3.19 or later. If the option is still missing, contact your ArborNote Works administrator or support contact.
