Create or Edit a Proposal

The following steps apply to both new proposals and existing drafts.

1. Create or Edit Proposal

Create a new proposal or edit an existing one.

To create a new proposal:

a. Open the project and select trees.

b. Click on the 'actions' button and select "Create Proposal" from the drop down options.

To edit an existing proposal:

a. Go to Sales->Proposals and highlight the proposal in the proposals table.

b. click on the pencil icon to the right of the proposal to open it in edit mode.

At the top of the screen, you will see the proposal’s status badge, such as DRAFT, and an Autosaved indicator.

2. Enter the Job Name

Enter the proposal name in the Job name field at the top left of the screen.

This replaces the Name field from the previous interface.

3. Choose the Pricing Type

Select one of the following pricing options using the toggle at the top of the screen:

  • Hours
  • Line item
  • Flat rate

These pricing models work exactly as they did previously. Only the selection control has changed from radio buttons to a tab-style toggle.

The adjacent rate field automatically changes based on your selection. For example:

  • Rate ($/hr) appears when Hours is selected.
  • Flat rate price appears when Flat Rate is selected.

4. Add Requirements (Optional - See Requirements tutorial)

Select + Add next to Requirements to add any requirements associated with the proposal.

This is the same requirements feature from the previous interface, relocated next to the pricing options.

5. Configure Client and Display Settings

Select Client and display settings to expand the panel.

This panel contains the attribution and proposal-display fields that previously appeared directly on the proposal form.

Under Attribution, you can access:

  • Lead source
  • Business developer
  • Prime contractor
  • Assign resources

Under Proposal settings, you can access:

  • Photos
  • Map style
  • Sort
  • Photo date range
  • Table columns
  • Notes

Select the panel again when you are ready to collapse it.

6. Add Pricing Adjustments

Select Pricing adjustments to expand the panel.

Depending on the selected pricing model, this panel contains the same adjustment fields that were available in the previous interface, including:

  • Other cost
  • Sales tax
  • Discount

7. Review the Proposal Total

The running TOTAL remains visible at the top right of the screen.

Select View categories to display the itemized cost breakdown. Depending on the proposal, the categories may include:

  • Tree services
  • Sales tax
  • Line item
  • Permit
  • Other
  • Custom
  • Materials
  • Equipment
  • Waste disposal
  • Discount

These are the same categories that previously appeared down the right side of the proposal form.

Select Hide categories to collapse the breakdown.

8. Work With the Inventory

The inventory section below the proposal settings has not changed.

The following tabs continue to work as before:

  • Map
  • General Tree Care
  • Line Item
  • Photos

The inventory table, columns, and toolbar actions are also unchanged, including:

  • Single Highlight
  • Edit Highlighted
  • AI Mass Edit
  • Excel Export
  • Upload Photo
  • Show All
  • Update Inventory
  • Delete Highlighted

9. Preview or Cancel

Select Preview at the top of the screen to review the proposal.

Select Cancel to exit the proposal screen.

These actions work as they did previously but have been moved from the bottom of the form to the top.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

I can’t find Lead Source, Business Developer, Photos, Sort, or Notes. Where did they go?

These fields have not been removed. Select Client and display settings to expand the panel. The fields are organized under Attribution and Proposal settings.

Where is the itemized cost breakdown?

Select View categories next to the TOTAL at the top right of the screen.

The cost categories were previously displayed by default along the right side of the proposal form. They are now shown on demand.

Where are Other Cost, Sales Tax, and Discount?
